Sizing & Fit

Size Measurement
Small (ages 3-7) bodywrap 60x20cm, straps 35cm
Medium (ages 7-14) bodywrap 81x25cm, straps 40cm
Large (teens/adults) bodywrap 103x28cm, straps 51cm

How It Works

Applies compression and deep pressure to the wearer, offering proprioceptive feedback to the body and shoulders. Can be adjusted to give a tight, reassuring “hug” to the body. No weight is used — instead deep pressure is applied through the wrapping of the vest around the body and over the shoulders. Can help reduce cortisol levels and anxiety, promote the release of oxytocin, enhance proprioception, and reduce sensory seeking behaviours. Can be worn discreetly under a jumper.

Materials & Construction

Made from a neoprene body wrap with two shoulder straps.

Our Story

Founded in Yorkshire

Our Story

VertiBaX was founded by Angus Macnab, following a road traffic accident in 2000 that left him managing persistent lower back pain.

Drawing on his background in biochemistry and as a gym instructor, Angus developed a Core Lumbar range of lower back belts and supports — designed to warm the core muscles using natural body heat, while stabilising the lower back at the L5/S1 level of the spine.

After five years of development, VertiBaX officially launched in 2006. In 2010, the VB119 passed through the Boots Centre for Innovation and became a trusted lower back pain management aid.

Beyond His Own Pain

Helping many more since

Beyond His Own Pain

What started as a solution for Angus's own pain has since grown to help many others: VertiBaX went on to work alongside paediatric physiotherapists caring for children with cerebral palsy, developing a child back support belt now used in NHS clinics across the UK.

Today, VertiBaX is MHRA-registered as a manufacturer of Class 1 orthopaedic support devices — still designed in Yorkshire, made in Cornwall, and still owned and run by Angus.
